“Full” Style
“Full” style indicates the entire hat is made using the same fabric. 
 
Full Hickory Stripe Engineer hats were used extensively throughout the United States, though they are often associated with oil fired engines, Western based Railroads, and Freight Lines. 
 
As the days of Steam Engines gave way to cleaner Diesel/Electric engines, Full White hats became popular as a means of showcasing to the public how “clean” Passenger trains had become in the late 1930s and early 1940s.
 
Like “Eastern Style” hats, the fabric options used on “Full” style hats are also nearly limitless.
