First issued as part of the United States Coast Artillery fatigue uniform in 1908, this denim utility hat would later become known world wide as the "Daisy Mae".
This style utility hat was used extensively throughout early 20th century American military history, from the Coast Artillery of 1908 to both WW1 & WW2.
From the CCC, Army, Navy, Marines, and private purchase alike, the Daisy Mae has taken many forms and colors of the years, ranging from Brown denim, to Indigo, and OD green during the Second World War, and numerous camouflage and patterned fabrics throughout the civilian market after the war. Also referred to as a "Bucket Hat", this style work cap has taken the world by storm and is a true piece of American History.
